In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic was still in its initial stages and spreading fast, with India seeing over 1 lakh cases a day amidst the second wave. As a result, PES MUNSoc was unable to host its annual flagship MUN, The People’s Conference, which left the members feeling disheartened. However, our ever-enthusiastic members decided on hosting an online event which would not be a MUN in its entirety, but would essentially act as an introduction or a stepping stone to a MUN. This event came to be known as “Diplomat Wars”, the very first edition of it taking place in 2021. 

 

Diplomat Wars, abbreviated as DW, is an event exclusively for students across all campuses of PES University. It mainly focuses on the new and incoming batch of students, providing them with first-hand experience of diplomacy, and a glimpse of the enthralling MUN world. 

 

Revolutionizing the online experience of events, Diplomat Wars usually has five compelling rounds branched out on two days with exciting awards to be given out at the end of the second day, including numerous cash prizes and exclusive opportunities. 

 

This event is an ideal platform for individuals to showcase their qualities while broadening their reasoning, analytical, and argumentation skills by simulating a plethora of circumstances and providing an opportunity to stir debate on consequential issues. 

 

Diplomat Wars is usually held in either January or February every year. No previous MUN experience is necessary to participate in this event!
